A charming book to share with your child now and in the future. A non-threatening romp, despite the fact that being separated from your parent can be so scary to a small child. Who doesn't love the plink plink of berries in the pail, and the discoveries made on a wild hill? A lovely touch - the illustrations are done in dark blue!

Blueberries for Sal
I bought this book 35 years ago for my son and daughter and they just loved it. They too followed me around picking blueberries when we lived in Baxter State Park in Maine.
Luckily we didn't encounter a bear. I gave it to my grandson when he was 4. The book was like reading about his mother picking berries.
I gladly recommend this book to all children.
It is in black and white so the children could
color the pages-like my daughter did-if they wished too. I purchased this copy for my cousin's grandchildren. jbgoode, Patten, ME

An Excellent Book
My sister sent this book to me many years ago, and I just ordered another copy because the original is so worn from many happy readings. The story is still a favorite, and the pen and ink drawings are exquisite.
