This book tells of the transformation of Rumi the professor into Rumi the mystic and how that transformation was influenced by Rumi's spiritual soulmate, a man named Shams. The author does a great job telling the story and in the meantime educates her reader regarding the mystical arm of Islam known as Sufism. I can't recommend this book highly enough.
