Wonderful!
I bought a copy of the first (1991) edition of this book for the four-page story 'Eleven' alone. I had seen a copy of the story in an assignment from the Bard High School Early College in Queens, and was smitten. It starts out, 'What they don't understand about birthdays and what they never tell you is that when you're eleven, you're also ten, and nine, and eight, and seven, and six, and five, and four, and three, and two, and one.' And you just have to keep reading to find out what she means. From what I can tell the other stories are equally funny and poignant.
