Good books are being written now about the struggles of the 60's civil rights times. This is an excellent important view and good reminder of work yet to be done in this area.

Very Informative!!
I had to read this book for school and after getting past the first chapter I was truly amazed! I have lived in Henderson for most of my life and I had never heard of Henry Marrow. I think that it's a shame that Granville County needs to keep this story hidden behind the scenes. It was an amazing read and definitely not a waste of time!!

Gripping Story
This was a great book! Living in nearby Henderson where the Teal's were held in our local jail, I can relate to the book on a personal level. The memory of the situation is vivid in my memory. I can reccomend this book to anybody to learn what a small town life was like in the 1970's. The sad part is that it still goes on today in 2007 but life is much better for everyone now. This book brings out the struggle for racial equality very well. Even though I feel the author is just a little bias in his agenda it is well worth reading.
