Beautiful. Through the sadness of dog loss, this book somehow reaches out with great comfort. So happy to have found it to gift a very special child dealing with the passing of his beloved family pet. Perfect for any age.

Wonderful soothing book
This book is great for that sad time when a dog dies. We keep extras on hand for friends. It is a reminder of how happy we made our pets, and how natural it is that they will die, and that they will live in our memories, AND that we will go on as well. Buy at least two copies!

Good for kids
I bought this book to help my 9 year old son cope with the death of our 16 year old Black Lab, Koko. She was such an integral part of our lives, and my son was devastated with her loss (so was I). Miss Rylant's book put a very positive outlook that helped him deal with her (Koko's) loss. Miss Rylant did a very good job.

Lost a Dog?
This is a nice gift for someone who is mourning the loss of a beloved dog. It is upbeat, no maudlin sentiment. I am planning to send it to a friend
