Flann O'Brien (Brian O'Nolan) wrote a regular column in The Irish Times. The title was "The Cruiskeen Lawn" (The full jug) and his nom de guerre was 'Myles na Gopaleen'. His play with the language was acknowledged as an inspiration by S.J.Perelman, the peerless swordsman of words. This is wonderful stuff, and a great deal of fun.
