Like most of Ludlums titles, "The Parsifal Mosaic" is as mysterious as the story. There are so many lies told, even by the President of the United States, that you will not be able to start understanding what in the world is going on, until you are at least half way through the book, if you are anything like me. The story is about "field" men doing their job for their various countries. The main character is Michael Havelock, born Miklail Havlicek, in the Czech village if Lidice, during WW2, living by his young wits in the forests around his village. At the age of twelve he is smuggled out of Prague and sent to the U.S.A. The story continues as Michael is now a deep cover agent for the U.S.A. It is Michaels destiny to find several Russian spies who are operating in the U.S.A. . One is a mole high in the office of the secreatry of state, and the other is the man that has been designated as "Parsifal" who has the papers and plans that could start ww3 Read the book and see how it all turns out. There are several main characters I have left out for you to discover. Russia is still the U.S.S.R. at this time. Did I mention that there are many people trying to kill Michael, even those in our own government? Have fun
