Seller's Description:
VG in VG+ jacket. VG/VG+. 8vo. original beige boards gilt (a little rubbed and bumped, some spotting/marking to leaf edges and endpapers, a little silverfishing to cloth edges, a few tape marks to boards) in dustwrapper priced £3.95 (a little rubbed & creased, some sunning, matching tape marks on reverse); pp. 444. A very good copy. The concluding novel in the original Dune trilogy.
This books starts where "Dune Messiah" ends but keeps the feel and spirit of the original "Dune." I felt that "Dune Messiah" was lacking what the original "Dune" owned, and therefore I was a little reluctant to pick-up "Children of Dune." I can say I was pleasantly surprised by the read.
The strengths of the original "Dune" were it's fresh approach, inventiveness and it's jumping narrative. "Children of Dune" isn't as fresh but keeps the inventive approach and interesting narrative. That is why I give it 4 out 5 stars.
