I bought the books my kids will read this year. This was one of them. I wonder if anyone would read this if it was not assigned? I do not remember reading it in 8th grade. It was ok. The main characters are cynical like real people that I know. Unfortunately the things that happened are like what happened at my school.

The Pigman.
I loved this book when I read it as a young teen and I still love it, year later. Paul Zindel is one of my favorite authors. The Pigman, revolves around two teenagers named John and Lorrain misfits who find friendship with each other and a man named Mr. Pignati (hence the pigman) I absolutely love this book.

These are two true highschoolers
Paul Zindel captures the true essences of what it is like in high school. He writes of peer pressure and getting lost in only thinking of only yourself first. He characters are believable and relatable. His technique of hearing both sides of the story is unique and it works for this book. It is a five star! Read it before you get to highschool!
