Conagher would teach the Ladder Five a lesson, or die trying. Louis L'Amour's hero of this book is a hard driving man, yet sympathetic enough to see no one left hurt or dying. This is one of L'Amour's best books as you can get in touch with the character and ride along with him as he makes his way. I like this one very much. I think they made a movie also starring Tom Selleck--not bad either.
