This revision of Gerald Corey's best-selling text introduces students to the major theories of counseling (psychoanalytic, Adlerian, existential, person-centered, Gestalt, reality, behavior, cognitive-behavior, family systems, feminist and, new to this edition, postmodern approaches) and demonstrates how each theory can be applied to a single case ("Stan"). Reviewed by 27 of the field's leading experts, Corey's Seventh Edition covers the major concepts of counseling theories, shows students how to apply those theories in practice, and helps them learn to integrate the theories into an individualized counseling style. Incorporating the thinking, feeling, and behaving dimensions of human experience, Corey offers an easy-to-understand text that helps students compare and contrast the therapeutic models. This book is the center of a suite of products that include a revised student manual, a revised casebook, a companion text, and an all-new CD-ROM.

Inaccurate Image
The picture has changed since I purchased this book...and it's still not the correct one. The original image was for the eighth edition...and I received the fourth edition. Now the image is for the fifth edition. Better get that fixed.

Excellent Summary
This book is an excellent summary from the author's bird-eyes view about the theories and the possible difficulties in the practice of counseling. Ther are no prescription, no absolute truths, and no ready solutions, but it encourages you to think, and use all of your assets what you already have, as well as encourages you to develop your own personality in order to help develop clients.

Older book
I was surprised when the book arrived. It was in almost new conditions with no markings or damage on the inside. Considering that this is an older text book, I was surprised. There were no problems with the delivery and the book arrived sooner than expected. I would order from this dealer again.

text book
The text book was in good quality. A lot cheaper than going to the campus book store. When you are paying for college every little cent that is saved is a blessing.
