If you're a fan of Barbara Pym, you may not know this one, her last, and slightly different from her usual style in that it's told in the first-person. She almost didn't publish it but others urged her to. It's not one of her best, but worth reading. There's a bit more harshness here, perhaps reflecting her not enjoying the success she clearly deserved in her lifetime. Now she has a world of devoted fans.
