This new series is intended to be a focus of international discussion on politics and policy in nursing. Contributors have been invited to debate a wide range of issues using a variety of tools for analysis such as historical studies, sociology, economics, labour relations, systems analysis, management theory, and political science, taking into account the differences in nursing practice and political systems in different parts of the world.As well as indentifying problems or targets, and discussing solutions and strategy, the series aims to emphasize a hitherto neglected aspect of policy making, that is the analysis of the consequences of policy decisions, and the examination of how those policies haved come to be made and implemented.
