'The story read "Five men, one of whom said he is a former employee of the CIA, were arrested yesterday in what authorities described as an elaborate plot to bug the offices of the Democratic National Committee." The thought that the break-in might be the work of the Republicans seemed implausible...' When two reporters are assigned to cover what seems a routine burglary in the opulent Watergate building in downtown Washington, it becomes the first step in what must be the most devastating political detective story. This is Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein's gripping story of how they uncovered a scandal that still reverberates throughout the world. It follows their first suspicions through the torturous trail of false leads, lies, secrecy and high-level pressure, to the final moments when they are able to put the pieces of the puzzle together and write the expose that wins them a Pulitzer Prize and leads to the downfall of the President of the United States, Richard Nixon.

Seller's Description:
Very Good- Book In 1972 Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein investigated and reported in the Washington Post the incredible facts of a story that surfaced first as a burglary at Watergate and climaxed in the toppling of a president. This copy's front cover has a scene from the Warner Bros. motion picture starring Robert Redford and Dustin Hoffman. Pictorial wraps, 382 pp., photos. Moderate cover wear, clean text, tight binding.
The book was as I expected. It came in a timely manner, was well packaged and in the condition as stated from the seller.

Watergate, and Inner Workings of Washington D.C.
This excellent book covers in great detail how two reporters for the Washington Post uncovered information leading to the resignation of Richard Nixon, President of the United States, and his cronies within and without the White House.
It seems that nothing has changed in D.C. since the writing of this book, except maybe to get worse.
We the people really have no idea of what goes on in D.C. and how politicians find ways to keep us in the dark.
Strongly urge everyone to read this book.
