The rapid progress in cancer treatment, particularly for acute myeloid leukemia in adults, acute lymphoblastic leukemia in children, and malignant lymphomas is discussed in this volume. During the past decade these three diseases have become curable; however, much work remains to be done in solving problems associated with chemotherapy for gastrointestinal cancers and non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
