The chapter on tumours has been recast to conform to new WHO recommendations. The chapters on diseases of muscle and of peripheral nerves have been completely rewritten by internationally recognised authorities in their fields - Dr. Janice R. Anderson of Addenbrooke's Hospital, Cambridge and Dr. Rosalind H. M. King of the Royal Free Hospital, London respectively. Two entirely new chapters cover clinical neuropathology and the diseases of the orbit. Throughout there is greater emphasis on immunohistochemistry, which has become an increasingly essential adjunct to clinical practice.
