If you're a fan of P.N. Elrod, vampires or private investigators and quirky and shady characters, buy this book. A gripping suspenseful look into former reporter and current nightclub owner/gangster/investigator Jack Fleming's damaged psyche and complicated life. The series is brilliant and this latest work does not disappoint. Charles Escott is spot-on as Fleming's best friend/partner and so is the beautiful torch singer/girlfriend Bobbi. I can't wait for the next installment in this dramatic, sometimes comedic (in the old-fashioned gum-shoe way) series that gives a great twist to the vampire tale with romance, mob guys, mysteries and a vampire with a heart of gold and a sardonic sense of humour.
