The book they'll never forget
We got this book in 1988 as part of the Weekly Reader Children's Book Club. At the time, our daughter was 3. It was an immediate favorite! She laughed and giggled as dad read the silly book. Eventually her reading skills were good enough for her to read it to us.
One day, she called mom's voice-mail at work (a Fortune 500 company) and proceeded to read the book - tee hees and all - on the message. That message made it's rounds all through the company. What a hoot!
Then, as a sophomore at college (elementary ed major) she had to do a Read Aloud presentation...what book did she come home and get, you ask? ... Underwear! of course! She added all the appropriate visual aides (underwear!) and her presentation was a huge hit!
Our six year old grandson is the current 'reader' of this book in our household ... he, too, finds it difficult to read it without breaking into a fit of giggles before it's over!
Now we buy copies whenever we find them to give as baby gifts! You simply cannot go wrong with this book...if you are buying books for children who need to giggle!
