In this later, obscure play, Tennessee assembles a group of town's folk into a bar. Each of them has a story to tell, a confession, that are delivered as solioquies. As a historical footnote, this is the one play in which Tennessee performed one of the parts himself. By today's standards, the confessions of the characters may seem trivial. But, at the time it was written, the confessions were startling. Tennessee was in a pessimistic time in his life, so do not expect the play to be uplifting.
