Newman a essay� de tourner cette diffi cult� en classant les mots transcrits en caract�res latins, par ordre de racines. Mais pour les lettres qui manquent en anglais, il a adopt� un mode de transcription auquel je n'h�site pas � pr�f�rer les caract�res arabes. On verra en t�te du lexique comment, partant d'une id�e analogue, j'ai tent� de parer aux divers inconv�nients que je viens d'�num�rer, sans oublier qu'il est surtout destin� aux commen�ants.
