Seller's Description:
Fine in Very Good jacket. Signed by Author(s) 8vo-over 7¾"-9¾" tall. pp. 194. 194 pp. Jacket has minor creasing at head and foot of spine. The author struggled for most of his life to pass as a sighted man, "travelling everywhere at dizzying speeds without a cane"; then a severe accident forced him to take up the white cane, at last. "Enter Corky, a two-year-old yellow Labrador Retriever who became his guiding eyes and changed his life forever."
Author's childhood was spent trying to fit in as someone who happened to be "near-sighted" - truth is he's been legally blind since the time he started school. Getting to the "liberation" scene of him going out for the first time with Corky, not having to worry about where he was going, is worth the read alone.
