Pole Shift - Fact or Fiction
I've had the pleasure of reading this book on the theory of Pole Shift. Like many theories that are contrary to modern day perceptions of early mankind, the evidence provided in this book are thought provoking. It is a well laid out explanation of a number of theories as to why there was a mass extinction of species of wildlife and sea creatures that suddenly disappeared from the world. The author has expertly presented both sides of the argument of worldwide cataclysmic events as opposed to the uniformitarian theory, of which evolution owes its conception. The most striking note i found in this work was the lack of willingness, and apathy of mainstream science and paleontological world towards some of the material he presents on behalf of scientist and researchers whose works in regards to this theory has largely being shunned and discredited, by mainstream without a thoughtful and balanced investigation on its possibilities. This is a must read for those like me who, having considered the current world view on gradualism-uniformitarianism of our world, have come to realize that the accepted ideas on the formation of our world's geology/topography and the evolution of species has many holes. We still cannot answer the question on how mountains are formed, and why frozen remains of masses of creatures such as woolly mammoths in Siberia with fresh vegetation still in their mouths has yet to be addressed. Immanuel Velikovsky's "Earth in Upheaval" instilled in me a desire to know more on the subject. Velikovsky wrote about cataclysms as an answer to questions that the modern day science world still cannot explain.
