The story of misfit high-school girl, Carrie White, who gradually discovers that she has telekinetic powers. Repressed by a domineering, ultra-religious mother and tormented by her peers at school, her efforts to fit in lead to a dramatic confrontation during the senior prom. Carrie knew she should not use the terrifying power she possessed...But one night at her senior prom, Carrie was scorned and humiliated just one time too many, and in a fit of uncontrollable fury she turned her clandestine game into a weapon of horror and destruction...A modern classic, Carrie introduced a distinctive new voice in American fiction--Stephen King. The story of misunderstood high school girl Carrie White, her extraordinary telekinetic powers, and her violent rampage of revenge, remains one of the most barrier-breaking and shocking novels of all time. Make a date with terror and live the nightmare that is...Carrie.

Seller's Description:
Near Fine in Very Good jacket. 1st Printing. First printing of Stephen King's first book. First Edition stated on copyright page, with P6 code printed in the gutter of p. 199 of the text indicating the first state. A great copy, which I will try to describe thoroughly to prospective buyers. This is a bright and square copy in maroon cloth that has a few minor spots of rubbing/soil remnants, perhaps as if the book was handled a bit outside of the jacket. The book seems too tight to have been read. The gilt titling to the spine is bright, with a few small rubbed imperfections in "Carrie". Light rubbing to cloth at bottom of boards, but not nearly worn through. Rear paste-down has a small, 5mm defect at the corner, where it is torn but still pasted down. Original, price-clipped dust jacket is bright with some edgewear, crinkling at lower front flap fold, with a piece of scotch tape also having been applied to the inside of a 1cm closed tear at the lower flap fold. Small closed tear to rear lower flap fold, and general edgewear and softening with minor loss to paper at corners. A whitening crease line runs up the front flap fold. Some light apparent sunning to spine and a few other spots and imperfections to the jacket panels, with toning inside it. Presents nicely overall, and now in new mylar dust jacket protector.

Seller's Description:
Very good. Connecting readers with great books since 1972! Used books may not include companion materials, and may have some shelf wear or limited writing. We ship orders daily and Customer Service is our top priority!
Carrie might have been the first book written by the King of Horror, but it was far from being the first book I ever read by him. I was already a huge fan of the classic 1976 horror movie with Sissy Spacek, so I was psyched to read it! Yes! I said it! I am a 90s brat! Anyhoo, the best thing about this book is knowing that my favorite movie adaptation was the most faithful, plus the book, of course, provided more character development while featuring rare, exciting differences that no movie can match. Great example: If you think Carrie wreaks terrifying revenge at the prom, wait till you see what she does to her entire town! My best reason to recommend this book: If you are looking for one of the scariest, most nightmarish novels from the imagination of the King of Horror, do NOT miss Carrie... unless you want her to use her powers on YOU!!

Don't laugh, you might be next!
Carrie is the outcast, the girl who everyone makes fun of. But when she finds out she has telekinetic powers, she figures out that they can help her be liked, and out from under her mother's oppressive reign.
This book also has an epilogue, which is very interesting.
