Seller's Description:
INSCRIBED AND SIGNED BY HERMAN WOUK. Play about a navy court martial that Wouk based on his own novel that won a Pulitzer Prize. The play was a modest hit and ran for 415 performances in 1954. The cast was good Henry Fonda, Lloyd Nolan (as Queeg) and John Hodiak with direction by Charles Laughton. But it is the film version that remains in our memories mainly because of Humphrey Bogart's legendary performance as Queeg. This was really his swan song and the last of his Oscar nominations. The film received 7 Oscar noms. including one for best picture. The book is in fine condition except for a shadow of a small price stain on the front pastedown. This is the new edition of the play and should not be confused with the first 1954 edition which seems that a lot of dealers are doing. There were no isbns' back in 1954. Laid in the book is a playbill for the 1983 Broadway production that starred Michael Moriarty.
