Seller's Description:
Like New. With soaring and masterful prose, James Carlos Blake brings to life an enthralling historical time and place-and a cast of memorable characters-in a stunning tale of dark instinct, blood reckoning, and fates forged in the zeal of America's "Manifest Destiny" (from description on back of book). Pictorial cover. 344 pp. Light foxing on page edges and end papers, else like new. Full refund if not satisfied.
In the Rogue Blood is reminiscent of Cormac McCarthy's Blood Meridian. Plenty of 1800s violence for those that enjoy such. Great character development. Not much in the way of anything lovey-dovey... this isn't a romance novel. And don't look for comedy relief. Blake's novel, in my opinion, is considerably better than McCarthy's, in that there is actual punctuation, and you are not left wondering who said what, or what the heck is going on. And Blake does not go off on tangents, telling stories that have nothing to do with the main theme of the book. If you like McCarthy, you should LOVE Blake.
