Rajkumar then saw the woman whose love would shape his life, and later, as a rich man, he goes in search of her.

This book would make a wonderful multi season Masterpiece Theatre presentation. Marvelous interesting characters, unexpected turns in the plot, and a dazzling historical backdrop that covers nearly a century. I learned a lot about Burma, Malaysia,, and India and their history, particularly during WWII. I have recommended this to my local book group.
