Msn erblickt dort den auf dem Bilde des Python als Antenor bezeichneten J�ngling, wie er, mit Petssos, Chiton und Chlamys bekleidet, mit zwei Fackeln in den Binden, eine Frau bedr�ngt, die sich auf: einen Altar gefliichtct hat und entsetzt. �ber die ihr drohende Gefahr, erschreckt dar�ber, dafs ihr Verfolger selbst durch die Scheu vor dem Altar sich von weiterem Andr�ngen nicht abhalten 15s beide Arme emporstreckt. �ber einem gleichfalls aus drei Streifen bestehenden Bogen, mit dem doch auch nur ein Regenbogen gemeint sein 'kann, stehen zwei Frauen. Die aus Hydria Wasser ansgiefsen, um die Fackeln zu l�schen. Man k�nnte, um dieses Vasenbild zu deuten, zun�chst an solche Sconco denken, wie sie uns z. B. Immo haste ambas hie in ara, nt viras, comburam; doch ist es wegen des Begenhcgcns und der flyaden unm�glich eine Deutung au�erhalb der Heroengesohiehte zu versuchen; trotz der grefsen Abweichungen, die ja augenf�llig sind, herrscht nun doch wieder eine so grofse �bereinstimmung zwischen der Alkmenerase (a) und der eben besprochenen (b) (sogar die Triglyphen und Melopea, die bei Alt�ren sonst nicht vorkommen, sind hinzugef�gt), dafs an einem Zusammenhang zwischetf beiden nicht gezweifelt werden kann. Jedenfalls ist B eine verk�rzte und dadurch wesentlich undeutlicher gemachte, ich will nicht sagen, Copie von A. Sondern vielleicht von einer auch A zu Grunde liegenden Darstellung. Aus der wir jedenfalls das eine lernen, dafs hier die mit Feuer bedrohte Frau unter allen Umst�nden als lebendig gedacht werden mufs.
