Excerpt from The Golden Treasury of Magazine Verse T H E selections in this book are gathered from American magazines, during the period from 1905 to 1917, which embrace the editor's studies and summaries of contemporary poetry that have appeared in the boston evening tran script. The collection thus in part antedates the present vogue in poetry, while representing the various qualities and schools of the poetic revival in its progress. The magazines, it is clearly wished to be understood, have been the source from which the material is taken. It may not seem inappropriate, levying as the editor has upon the late Francis Palgrave's fortunately descriptive title for his anthologies of English songs and lyrics, to call this col lection, a golden treasury of magazine verse.
