As a follow up book it was slightly disappointing. The author seemed to be padding it out a bit because he had had such a hit with The Assyrian. There was less action - battlewise - especially from a still very young hero, but the plus side was a very good historical lifestyle from the various lands. It`s a pity he didn`t stop it earlier so that he could have put more thought into creating a trilogy with a storming ending.
