Queen Eleanor was the whole package. I have always found her to be an amazing woman in a time when women weren't considered worth very much at all, except for the power or money they could bring into a marriage. Even so, she was able to enact her decisions and work with the social mores of the time. I would have loved to encountered her in real life. This is full of wonderful historical facts and anecdotes which help to really flesh out this powerful, and complex woman. She was most definitely ahead of her time.

Thorough and Entertaining
Probably the definitive source about Eleanor. Talk about a dysfunctional family.

Great Read
This is very much an "unputdownable" read for anyone interested in French / English history or, like myself, interested in the Aquitaine region.
Tells so much more than a simple biography and brings the era to life magically.
A great read
