From the synopsis of this book, I was really looking forward to this. "Sulfurously funny", said one of the reviewers. What a disappointment! The narration is over dramatic and the pace is uneven at best. And I found very little that I could describe as funny. Half the details and events make no sense at all. I get that the main character, a very unlikable man, who is narrating the story is mostly an unreliable witness if not an outright liar.
I finished the book, so I'll give it 2 stars, but this was mostly a waste of time.
