A Book of Lasting Importance
Stanislavsky Directs and Robert Edmond Jones' The Dramatic Imagination have made a lasting impression on me, and I have bought them for others I reckoned would feel the same way. Gorchakov's book is a healthy corrective to the acting texts which have been so distorted out of all resemblance to the truth of what Stanislavsky strove to create. I recommend these two books to all interested in the performing arts.
