The fourth book in the Kydd series does not disapoint, both Kydd and the Royal Navy advance together. Kydd has now moved from "pressed" seaman to Masters Mate and is serving on HMS Achilles enroute from service in the Caribbean to England. He becomes embroiled in what is Englands most infamous mutiny - The Mutiny at the Nore -a mutiny which involved dozens of ships and thousands of men and which changed the Royal Navy for ever. Stockwin, with his usual efficiency has laid out the facts in a factual, readable and enjoyable novel - with many more to follow .
