This book is an engrossing tale of many parts, each woven into a tapestry of hope and longing, fear and enlightenment and deep understanding of history and place. I have read this book many times. Each time I re-discover the profound satisfaction of a beautiful story crafted of seemingly commonplace elements that slowly merge into a transcendant whole. I would reccommend this book to anyone, unreservedly.

The book gives one the feel of Southern Ohio and what it was like to this young lady. It is a good read and enjoyable.
