It his hard to believe that people are still reading Castaneda decades after he was exposed as as a faker and plagiarist who made up out of whole cloth his entire farago of nonsense about Don Juan. This book is particularly odious crap because it relates mainly to one of the female cultists he drew into his inner circle and who ultimately committed suicide after his death. They were mostly Postgraduate students at UCLA where he was a student. Castaneda fooled almost a whole generation of anthropologists as can be seen by the numerous references to his work in contemporary serious anthropology. As an example of fakery polluting serious academic studies it is at least on a par with and probably worse than the Piltdown Hoax.
