I was very excited to see that there was a book by Mary Stewart, written during her prime, that I had never heard of. I thought I had all her romantic suspense books. It was never published in the US and copies at a reasonable price are hard to come by. Be forewarned that it's a novelette rather than a novel. It has a great setting, a great set up, and very appealing characters. What it's missing is much a plot. I enjoyed it but there's not much here.
I recommend buying this only if you want to have a complete Mary Stewart collection. Otherwise, it's not worth the money that you have to pay for such a hard-to-find book.

Good as always
I have read and reread Mary Stewart books most of my life. I was excited when I found the listing for a book I had never even heard of! When I received it, I was taken aback a bit by the very thin volume. But being Mary Stewart, she managed to cover all the bases of her suspenseful romantic genre. The book was also a little pricey, but I have something unique for my collection.

Not quite such in depth story as with her previous books, however, the descriptions of the characters & the island are pure Mary Stewart and for die hard fans, the book is definitely worth a read!

The Wind Off the Small Isles
This is a gem of a book -- written in the true Mary Stewart fashion -- and although it is not lengthy, it is a good read especially on a rainy day with a mug of tea!
