My mother liked his border flowers, and my father talked to him once about fertilizer. This is Susie Salmon, speaking from heaven - which looks a lot like her school playground - where everything she wants appears as soon as she thinks of it - except the thing she wants most: to be back with the people she loved on Earth. Watching from here, Susie sees her happy suburban family devastated by her death, isolated, even from one another, as they each try to cope with their terrible loss alone. Over the years, her friends and siblings grow up, fall in love, do all the things she never had the chance to do herself. But life is not quite finished with Susie yet . . . `Moving and compelling . . . This is a book about a 14 year old little girl who was murdered, and the story is told by her...her name was Susie Salmon. She narrates the book from Heaven.
Good read. A novel about life and death, forgiveness and vengeance. Painfully funny, tough and terribly sad as well as a tribute to the healing power of grief.
I liked this book. It was definitely from a different perspective.

Lovely even with bones
I enjoyed the book but it was a bit slow in places... Maybe it's one of those tomes that requires reading twice to appreciate it fully?
Ironically, the film was shown on TV a few days after I'd read the book... and I was very glad I'd read the book first as I thought the film was rubbish.
The book seller was great! Great price, well packaged and arrived speedily :-)

I hope the movie is better than the book. From what I read, I would not be inspired to watch it.

Awesome!!! Excellent!!! One of the best books I have read so far. Excellent vocabulary. Emotional and thought-provoking. I couldn't put it down, then I didn't want it to end.
