Clinical chapters consistently cover epidemiology, anatomy and physiology and/or pathophysiology, and specific conditions with notes for assessment and treatment. Case studies for each clinical chapter apply content to real life situations. This revision includes two new units and nine new chapters. The book begins with a new unit on the history and current role of air and ground transport nurses and includes chapters on the History of Patient Transport, Preparation for Practice, Certification, Members of the Transport Team, and Research and Quality Management. The new unit on Patient Care Issues includes three new chapters that cover legal, ethical and family issues.
