This is a good book. I like how Harriet Tubman fought for her freedom. She was a black slave, born on a tobacco plantation in Maryland. Slavery was the buying and selling of human beings. Harriet had a hard life. Black people in her time worked on plantations in the South. Black people worked from sunup till sundown. Plantation owners were cruel toward black people. Light-skinned black slaves were treated better then the dark slaves were. The light-skinned black slaves worked in their white masters houses. Harriet was a conductor for the Underground Railroad. Harriet helped thousands of black slaves escape to freedom. Harriet never lost a passenger. She and other black slaves had to be careful because there were slave catchers catching runaways.
