The tenth book in the Kate Shugak series is perhaps the most compelling so far. It is not as dark as the ninth book, with a sliver of light and hope shining through. Again Kate is involved in police work and the story is just as complicated and involving as all of the other novels in this series. I highly recommend the entire series, and especially this novel which takes the reader through the complex feelings of grief and desolation to a semblance of peace and acceptance.
