I've used this book as a part of my own spiritual journey of reflection; I've taught it in conjunction with a Bible study midweek;
and I am currently using an illustration from it as part of my Supervisory process in Clinical Pastoral Education .
Well written, thought provoking and challenging for the reader, on several levels.

Great for understanding the Exodus
I have used this book for years to illustrate what Moses and the Israelites were confronting in the desert of Sinai. It shows very clearly some of the obstacles that a wanderer will confront and is very useful in teaching the books of Exodus and Numbers. I especially have used his experience with the bitter waters at Mara to show how God desired to bless the people of Israel in spite of their suspicion and fear of their situation.
