Philip Yancey has written a book on prayer that is not intimidating or guilt-producing. He explores every aspect of prayer as one who is learning and experiencing prayer in his own life. His ideas are thought-provoking and cause you to explore your own ideas and experiences from a new direction. It is not a quick read. You need time to think about each chapter. I took 3 months to read it but I really enjoyed the study and recommended it to my husband's Promise Keepers group and they are using it for their breakfast meetings.

Inspiring our weekly Small Group
Our Small Group Bible Study had finished a book by Max Lucado, Facing Your Giants and wanted a new study book that would deepen our relationship with God. Someone suggested this book to one of our members. Though a very different read from the Lucado book, this book is challenging us in positive ways to review our relationship with God and also giving suggestions for how to do that though the gift of a prayer life. So far we are all really appreciating Philip Yancey and a very different style.
