With rough inventiveness he transforms this ramshackle group into an organised fighting force, continually harrying the infuriated enemy as he battles his way back to his own lines. Written by the author of the Hornblower series, DEATH TO THE FRENCH is a classic novel of the Peninsular War, and was the inspiration for Bernard Cornwell's Sharpe books.

I became hooked on Sharps Rifes TV series on PBS or BBC I dont remember which. The hero always succeeds and always gets the lady. The used books I ordered were in excellent reading condition. The printed word for me is more important than the collectability of the book. None of the books have been damaged. None of the books smelt of tobacco or any other noxious fumes.
I now have all the Sharps films and books and all are quite enjoyable in their new (CD) and used book condition.
