This book is a great view of what morals push us to do in situations. Jonathan Glover brings up many issues that are very important to us now and many historical issues and relates what brings those about to our moral standings.
Great book, well written, and I'd recommend this book any day

brilliant in its analysis
Though Mr. Glover doesn't seem to make much of an attempt at his stated goal for his book--to begin to create an empirical approach to ethics--he brilliantly analyzes the psychologies that led to some of the most atrocious human calamities of the twentieth century. He provides us with a good opportunity to recognize those psychologies and avoid such calamities in the future.
