Finally, there is a biographical study of Woodes Rogers, whose privateering voyage round the world ranks almost with that of Anson; and one on the fight for the liberty of the press during the period when Milton was writing his famous Areopagitica.' The first two of these studies originally appeared in the United Service Magazine (now the Army Quarterly Journalism in the Days of the Common wealth in the Edinburgh Review and the other three in the Mariner's Mirror.'
