The revised edition of the searing investigation into the murder of Pope John Paul I that has sold more than 6 million copies. Only thirty-three days after his election, Pope John Paul I died in strange circumstances. Almost immediately rumours of a cover-up began to circulate around the Vatican. In his researches David Yallop uncovered an extraordinary story: behind the Pope's death lay a dark and complex web of corruption within the Church that involved the Freemasons, Opus Dei, the Mafia and the murder of the 'Pope's Banker' Roberto Calvi. When first published in 1984 In God's Name was denounced by the Vatican yet became an award-winning international bestseller. In this new edition, Yallop brings the story up to date and reveals new evidence that has been long buried concerning the truth behind the Vatican cover-up. This is a classic work of investigative writing whose revelations will continue to reverberate around the world.

Dj lt. wear; unclipped 9.95 pounds, protected in new, clear sleeve. Very attractive. Yallop's revelations detail the miasma of criminal financial activities which lead to bribery, blackmail and on more than one occasion, murder. It is Yallop's conviction that murder was the fate of Pope John Paul I, Albino Luciani, and he presents his evidence in this book. Denounced by the Vatican as 'fanciful and absurd', this classic of investigative reporting is a ground-breaking investigation into Pope John Paul I's death. Just 33 days after his election, it is a tale of intrigue, murder and corruption. It reveals the dark heart of the Vatican via a trail of evidence that connects the papacy, the Masons, Opus Dei, and the mafia. 334 pages. Printed in Great Britain by Richard Clay (The Chaucer Press) Ltd., Suffolk.

Yallop's Investigates The Death Of Pope John Paul 1 After Nearly 33 Days As Pope. He Believes The Pope Was Murdered Because Of The Changes He Was About To Announce Re Criminal Activities.
This book was a revelation when it came out, information from inside the Vatican itself regarding the ways it can function. I am now about to start an equally challenging book from the same author, The Power and the Glory. Politics not only Nationally but on the World Stage, and within the Catholic Church should be scrutinised, and as with so much, 'man' is found wanting regardless of ideals. I have bought copies to give to others.

This one of the best sources for the truth on the Vatican banking fiasco. The Money Changers by Charles Raw should be a companion read.
