Generally very light edge wear to jacket but 1cm tear and small chip at top of rear panel. One of 1000 copies hand-numbered and signed by Bill Hayden (this #188). Biography of Bill Hayden, originally elected to parliament in 1961, becoming a minister under the Whitlam government in 1972. As health minister he was responsible fro bringing Medicare into being. He became Treasurer in 1975. On Whitlam's retirement he took over the leadership of the Labor Party. Later he was made Governor-General of Australia.
