This book got me through a tough English major. It'll do the same for you. Comes in especially handy when you're reading some of the more uppity critics.
Notice the title says 'concise' but does not say 'complete.' Which is to say that every term you'll encounter may not be in this book. I will say, however, that if you encounter words that are not in this book, you're probably reading some pretty uppity criticism.
Have fun with that and remember: the OED is also your friend.
