Books by R Austin Freeman
Great Book
It's hard to beat R. Austin Freeman when it comes to writing mystery stories. Great ending to this story.
Another Holmes
An excellent read which features crime detection before the invention of electronics.
The wording can be a bit overbearing due to it being nearly 100 years old, but this apart, Dr. Thorndyke, the "dectective", is every bit as good as Sherlock.
Look out for others - they are exceptional
