GREATEST BOOK OF ALL TIMES
This is the first book I read as a young girl. It illustrates the beauty of the human spirit. It shows that no matter how destitute your life may be, there is always hope!! REAL PAGE TURNER...

This is probably Walker's best novel
The Color Purple is as fluid and lively today as it was when published. And it remains important in the issues it covers, such as relationships among African-American men and women and the sisterhood among women who share and care about each other. It can be read quickly because the language, while re-creating that of uneducated people, is well done and highly readable.

It's not what I'd call a happy book; it can be tough to take. It's also fantastic and should be read.
